“Putting Drinking Water First” means stopping threats to drinking water where they start. Clean Water Action is working to win strong water pollution controls by focusing on public health and drinking water impacts and bringing public health and environmental advocacy into Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) implementation.
ReThink Disposable
ReThink Disposable, a program of Clean Water Action and Clean Water Fund, aims to stop waste before it starts. We work with local governments, businesses and institutions, and consumers of single use food packaging to inspire a cultural shift away from the single-use “throwaway” lifestyle.
Strengthening Clean Water Protections
Clean Water is working to protect clean water and restore safeguards for our nation's wetlands and streams that feed our drinking water sources, filter pollution and protect communities from flooding.
Get The Lead Out
Lead, unlike many other drinking water contaminants, is usually not present in the drinking water source, but rather results from the distribution system or on site plumbing itself.
Civic Engagement and Democracy
Clean Water Action harnesses the grassroots power of our membership by endorsing in elections from the local to national level to elect progressive environmental champions who will work to protect clean water and fight climate change.
